Roof Restoration

Not every worn roof needs replacing. If the structure is sound but the surface is tired, a restoration can add years to it for a fraction of a re-roof. We clean the roof down, repair and re-bed loose ridge capping, re-point where needed, and coat the surface so it sheds water and looks the part again.

Restoration suits tile and metal roofs where the bones are good but the finish has gone. We will tell you honestly if a roof is better restored or better replaced, rather than sell you the bigger job.

What a restoration actually includes

A proper restoration is more than a coat of paint. We start by cleaning the roof back to a sound surface, stripping the moss and lichen that hold moisture against the tiles or sheets. Only then can anything seal to it.

From there we re-bed and re-point the ridge capping, which is where a surprising share of leaks begin, replace any broken tiles, and finish with a membrane coating that seals the surface and evens out the colour. Done before spring, it has the roof ready for the storm season rather than exposed during it.
